It was night and most people were having dinner. It was one of those nights that we could stay outside for long because it was warm, however there was a war, which made things more dangerous and made most people go home early. Who know what might happen when it gets dark.
That was why Lauren could be found in the Leaky Cauldron. It was too dark for her taste, not that she was afraid, she just wasn't suicidal and was only twenty-two years old. Give her time to have a life. For Lauren the saddest thing was that she was so young and full of dreams and barely knew if she would be alive to make them reality or not.
She sat down on a table in the corner, yes, because she was sleepy too and didn't like to be in the middle of the mess. Lauren ordered a butterbeer to animate her and while it didn't come she wondered if she should spend the night there or not. There was always Floo Powder, portkeys, etc... But it might be somewhat dangerous and exhausting to do that.
Tom came with her drink. "Thanks." she said with a nod and took a sip of it while resting her head against the wall.

Heels created a rhythmic click as they connected with the wooden floorboards. A black, velvet cloak billowed behind the woman before she shut the door, unfazed by the number of drunken eyes upon her; be them curiosity or lust. She walked with steps of confidence and purpose, perhaps arrogance, and spoke in hushed tones to the barman, requesting a firewhisky. How strange it was for a woman of her status to be lurking in the Leaky Cauldron, dressed handsomely, dripping with jewellry...
She sauntered towards a table in a shadowed corner, one eyebrow arched slightly, firewhisky in one pale hand. "Why," drawled Narcissa Black, with a smile not pleasant at all, "If it isn't Blackwood."

Lauren took a sip of her butterbeer. For her it was the best drink of the world since it made her feel comfortable and somewhat happy, even if she was having a bad day.
She put one hand in the pocket of her black coat, searching for a piece of paper to draw. It would at least keep her entertained, it was when Lauren was wondering where the hell she put the paper when she heard a familiar and not very friendly voice.
"Why, if it isn't Blackwood."
Lauren looked up to the blonde woman that stood near her. It was Narcissa Black, the greatest company in the world by now.
"Nice to see you too." Lauren said with a small note of sarcasm.

The blonde slid into the empty seat, looking rather disdainful towards the beverage in Lauren's possession. "Hm. You look slightly depressed," she simpered, sounding not at all concerned for the woman's well being. She could hold little sympathy for those who love mudbloods and halfbreeds. Black rose the firewhisky to her lips, wary of the deep red lipstick she wore, and took a sip. Fire smouldered in her chest, cascading down down her throat and into her stomach, instantly warming the chills left by the cold. She set the glass down, and rested her elbows against the polished oak of the table top.
Blue eyes as cold as her tone, she murmured, "Are you still with them?" Of course, she implied her associassion with the Ministry, working with other aurors to capture those who believed in a better future, like Bellatrix or Lucius, and constantly exposing herself to the company of the Order, those like her traitor cousin Sirius. He had been long ago disowned. Now, the man had no surname. They were no longer related.

"Hm. You look slightly depressed,"
"You make me depressed." Lauren thought, however she did not say it and let it be stuck in her throat. Being with Narcissa wasn't the best thing ever for Lauren. It reminded of Death Eaters and other things that happened in their school years. Lauren looked at her and said after taking another sip of her butterbeer. "Me? No, I'm just tired."
"Are you still with them?"
Lauren smiled. Being an Auror and an Order Member was one of the things that she was proud of and Lauren was always amazed by their attitude towards that.
"Of course I am. It's a way better than being tortured by every small mistake that we make." Lauren said simply, like it was a normal conversation. She heard that You-Know-Who tortured his supporters if they did anything wrong. Lauren was so glad to be an Order Member.

Narcissa eyed the woman, looking highly amused by her retort. "Death Eater's hardly make mistakes, Blackwood. Those who do, deserve the consequences they receive," she shrugged, a small pleasant smile still fixed on her porcelain face. "It's ever so sad to know that The Order are so little educated on discipline," she sighed, shaking her head slightly in mock disappointment, carefully styled blonde hair swaying too and fro.

Lauren stared at her, trying to make sure that she heard her right and a few seconds later, Lauren laughed softly to what she said. Of course Narcissa couldn't barely understand it.
"Don't you see Narcissa? It's not a matter of discipline, it's a matter of responsibility, courage and common sense." She said, making sure that Narcissa heard the 'common sense' part.
"And you're wrong, the Death Eaters made a big mistake by joining the Dark Side." Lauren said now seriously. "Rather be tortured and killed than rot in Azkaban."

Narcissa smiled slightly, one slender eyebrow arched disapprovingly. "Hm," she chuckled, lowing her eyes, silver lashes falling against her snow white cheeks. Bringing the firewhisky to her lips, she paused, peering over at the blonde over the beverage. "Common sense? We'll see about that."

Lauren saw her smile and raised an eyebrow, wondering what she was thinking. Lauren looked at her and it was like looking at someone from another world, since they fortunately were so different, maybe that was why it was so hard to understand each other.
"What do you mean by that?" Lauren asked before taking a sip of butterbeer.

Narcissa arched two eyebrows elegantly in a skeptical fashion.
"Oh, Blackwood, honey, don't tell me you don't know," she frowned, before a small, amused smile replaced the expression. "Or are you in denial? It's invietable: The past is coming to an end. Muggles, Half-breeds, Blood-Traitors... They've all got to go. They're a dying breed. The Dark Lord's willing to move any muggle out of the way to get what he wants, and no Order is going to sway him."
She spoke in hushed tones still, but the fire and excitement in her eyes grew. She was not a Death Eater, but she followed their beliefs religiously. "There will be a war, Blackwood. And common sense, rationality, or disipline won't make any difference. I'm just as eager as every other citizen to see the result of this war. It might just change everything for the better."
